(September 9, 2015) — Atmospheric Plasma Solutions, a leader in the development of high-performance plasma power supplies and plasma coating removal systems, has been chosen to present in the Lightning Round at the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) Tech Venture Conference 2015, September 15-16 at the Raleigh Convention Center. Atmospheric Plasma Solutions (APS) develops plasma power supplies and plasma delivery systems that harness the power of plasma for treating surfaces and removing industrial polymeric coatings from a wide range of surfaces found in aviation, automotive, marine and civil applications.
APS manufactures the world’s first environmentally responsible, atmospheric plasma delivery system based upon a proprietary PlasmaFlux™ technology that quickly and safely removes industrial polymeric coatings. Using just air and electrical power, APS technology generates a highly reactive plasma at atmospheric pressure so that the benefits of plasma processing can be brought to conventional cleaning and treatment processes without the need for expensive vacuum equipment or exotic gases. PlasmaFlux™ eliminates the costs and hazards of using aggressive solvents or abrasives while avoiding the collection, treatment, and disposal of dangerous by-products of coatings removal. The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) is the largest and longest-running network for entrepreneurs in the country. The annual CED Tech Venture Conference highlights North Carolina’s hottest emerging and growth-stage technology companies. In addition to the Lightning Round, APS will participate in the Demo Room at the conference where its PlasmaFlux™ power supplies will be on display.

The company was founded ten years ago as a spin-off from North Carolina State University where a variety of atmospheric plasma technologies are thriving areas of research. APS has successfully demonstrated several commercial applications of the technology and has made significant progress addressing an initial market for paint removal from commercial and military aircraft. Continued interest and support from the Air Force and Navy have resulted in recently awarded research grants and growing interest in using the PlasmaFlux™ system as a direct replacement for current coating removal technologies.
